Project Head - Cattle Farm

Job Description

Farm Management & Organic Transition:

• Develop and implement a farm plan with the Farm Director
• Plan and manage crop production, soil health, and natural pest control.
• Create daily & weekly work schedules and lead farm operations.
• Oversee organic conversion and ensure all farm activities follow organic standards.
• Train, and manage farm staff, apprentices, interns, and volunteers.
• Maintain detailed records of all organic activities for certification audits.

·        Ensure a clean, safe, and organized work environment

Farm Operations & Development:

·        Manage land preparation, irrigation, fertilizers, and pest control.

·        Conduct and oversee all tractor work, field prep, planting, cultivation, and harvesting.

·        Oversee irrigation systems, including off-grid solar irrigation using rainwater catchment and wells.

·        Handle post-harvest processing, quality control, and produce deliveries.

·        Maintain proper farm infrastructure, equipment handling, and upkeep.

·        Purchase or Prepare farm inputs and seeds using the farm account.

·        Develop an Organic Farming Training Center to educate farmers on organic methods.

·        Handle post-harvest processing, quality control, and produce deliveries.

·        Work on business growth strategies to improve farm revenue

Responsibility and Deliverables

Requirements:

·        Bachelors or Masters in Agriculture or related field

·        3+ years of farm management experience (organic farming preferred).

·        Knowledge of organic farming, certification standards, and compliance.

·        Experience in team management, crop planning, and soil health.

·        Basic computer skills (Google Drive, record-keeping).

·        Valid driver’s license and own transportation.
